Madelene Etienne | Boston
Madelene Etienne is a recent graduate of Bunker Hill Community College, where she majored in Biology. She brings a rich background in healthcare, human services, and rehabilitation, and is deeply passionate about supporting human health and wellness. Madelene plans to continue her education with a focus on cognitive sciences, where she can combine her interests in art, science, and history.
With a special interest in the science of human behavior, Madelene is committed to making a meaningful impact in her community. This commitment led her to join the A.M.A.N.I. Project as a student mentor in 2024—a role she embraces with gratitude and enthusiasm.
In her free time, Madelene enjoys watching movies and anime, reading, cooking, listening to music, and choral singing. She also adores spending time with her two beloved cats.

Erick Santos-Dias | Boston
Erick Santos-Dias is a second-year student of Bunker Hill Community College in Boston, where he majored in Accounting. Born and raised in the United States to Brazilian parents, Erick is now pursuing his academic goals of earning a master’s degree in accounting with a minor in finance. He is an active member of the college’s Business, Finance, and Economics (BFE) Club and is passionate about financial literacy and community engagement.
In 2024, Erick joined the AMANI Project as a student mentor, driven by a strong desire to give back to his community. From a young age, he recognized the importance of reading in everyday life and is committed to helping others access the tools they need to succeed.
Outside of academics, Erick enjoys a wide range of interests including anime, working out, and playing sports such as basketball, soccer, football, and baseball. He also values quality time with his family and loves relaxing with TV shows.

Jean Robens Destin | Boston
Jean Robens Destin is a recent graduate of Bunker Hill Community College, where he majored in Business Administration / Entrepreneurship. He aspires to pursue a master’s degree in Business Administration, along with an additional degree in Finance.
Robens is deeply passionate about business and innovation. His interests range from playing sports—especially soccer and basketball—to reading business books and conducting research. Currently, he is pursuing internship opportunities in investment banking and private equity to deepen his understanding of the finance industry.
His entrepreneurial spirit is fueled by a love of learning and a strong curiosity about the business world. Robens is always eager to explore new ideas and expand his knowledge.
He began his journey with the AMANI Project as an intern and is excited to continue contributing to its mission. The organization’s values strongly align with his own, and he is committed to creating a meaningful impact through both his professional goals and community involvement.

Hashim Hussein | Boston
Hashim Hussein is a current student majoring in Psychology at Bunker Hill Community College. Born in Somalia, he has spent most of his life in the U.S., moving through various cities in Massachusetts and gradually building a sense of home. Although finding community hasn’t always come easily, BHCC has brought him closer to one. Through college, he has had the opportunity to give back with care and compassion by actively participating in programs like the Hope Initiative, Jumpstart, and the Amani Project. These experiences have allowed him to connect with fellow students, exchange meaningful ideas, and contribute to something larger than himself. He values freedom, joy, and being present in each moment—and brings that energy into everything he does.ion goes here

Widmilly Joseph | Boston
Widmilly Joseph is a recent graduate of Bunker Hill Community College, where he majored in Finance. He is fluent in Haitian Creole, French, and English. His academic goals include pursuing a master’s degree in finance as well as a degree in political science. Since relocating from Haiti to the United States four years ago, he has embraced the opportunity to connect with and learn from people from around the world.
Widmilly’s interests are as diverse as his background. He enjoys cycling, exploring music from different genres and eras, playing and watching soccer, spending quality time with family, and continuously seeking new knowledge.
He began his journey with the AMANI Project as an intern and is excited to continue contributing to a mission that aligns deeply with his values. Committed to making a positive impact, Widmilly sees many ways to give back and make a meaningful difference in his community.
